Builder-Grade Sink Swap That Actually Changes the Whole Kitchen

Most builder-grade sink setups are just fine enough to work. That's about all you can say about them. They're rarely deep enough, the faucets are cheap, and the whole thing just blends into the background in the worst way.

This is the kind of job we genuinely enjoy. We pulled out the old setup and dropped in a large single-basin undermount sink in a matte black finish - the kind with actual depth and a solid feel. Paired it with a matching matte black pull-down faucet, a dedicated hot/cold filtered water tap, and a disposal collar to tie it all together. Every fixture coordinated, nothing clashing.

Here's what makes this more than just a cosmetic win. A proper undermount installation means no rim sitting on top of the counter collecting grime. Wiping down the countertop goes straight into the sink - no lip to scrub around. And with a single large basin, you're not fighting a divider every time you wash a big pot or a sheet pan.

The plumbing side of it matters just as much as how it looks. Getting the drain placement right, sealing the undermount correctly to the stone, and making sure all the supply lines are clean and leak-free - that's the part most people don't think about until something goes wrong. We make sure it's done right the first time.

Small upgrades like this have a way of making the kitchen feel like a completely different space. If you've been staring at a tired sink setup and thinking it's time for a change, this is the kind of work we do every day.
